Nutrition

    • All food for Basecamp programs is prepared in our outdoor kitchen, approved by the Colorado Department of Health.

    • Alpine & Wilderness campers dine under the big tent in small groups.

    • Outpost campers enjoy meals transported from the outdoor kitchen for a more rugged dining experience.

    • Backpackers learn about food preparation in the Backcountry and help cook their own camp meals.

  • We can accommodate common allergies and dietary preferences:

    • Tree nut

    • Sunflower Seed

    • Peanut

    • Dairy

    • Seafood

    • Gluten

    • Vegetarian

    Prior notice is required to best support your child’s needs.

    • Families provide complete dietary details during registration.

    • Our administrative team may follow up with questions or request families supply specific foods when needed.

    • While our staff works carefully to accommodate each child, please keep in mind that meals are prepared in a mobile, outdoor kitchen, which can sometimes be impacted by weather or other factors outside our control.

    • If your child has a severe allergy not listed above, please complete the Dietary Needs Questionnaire.

      A member of our administrative team will reach out to discuss options and accommodations.

    • Meals are prepared from a rotating menu created with a certified nutritionist.

    • Our meals are designed to be healthy, delicious, and fuel active, high-altitude living.

    • A trained kitchen manager oversees menu planning and dietary accommodations each session.

    • Registered families can view menus in the Registered Family Resources via the Registration Portal.
