Meet Our Permanent Staff

Director of Risk Management: Thomas Zimmer PhD.

Dr. Zimmer has been working in Outdoor Education for over 15 years. Since graduating with his bachelor degrees in Outdoor Leadership and Business he has been an outdoor instructor/guide around the country, an owner of 3 businesses, a director of an outdoor boarding school, and a college professor. After receiving his PhD at the University of Utah he was a professor of Recreation and Outdoor Education at Western State College of Colorado and currently is an Assistant Professor of Leadership and Outdoor Education at Wyoming Catholic College in Lander, Wyoming. He has been running Catholic oriented outdoor trips since the late 90's and is dedicated to the safety and spiritual growth fostered through the outdoor activities at Camp Wojtyla.

 

Missionary staff

Elizabeth Jarocki is originally from Pittsburgh, PA, and was a counselor at Camp Wojtyla for three summers before joining the JPII Adventure Institute as full time missionary in 2011.  She graduated from Seton Hall University in 2010 with a BA in Catholic Theology and French.

 

 


 

Kayla Korte is from the St. Louis area and was a counselor at Camp Wojtyla in the summer of 2011 before joining the JPII Adventure Institute as full time missionary in 2011.  She graduated in May from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville with a degree in International Business and a minor in Spanish.  

 

Brianna Lawson, a native of Colorado, was raised on a farm where she discovered her love of the outdoors. She joined the missionary staff of JPII Adventure Institute in the summer of 2011 after graduating from Ave Maria University with a Bachelors degree in Theology.

 

 

 

 

 

Ted Mast is a Colorado native, was a missionary with the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) for 2 years in Des Moines, IA. After working as counselor for Camp Wojtyla in the summer of 2011, he joined the JPII Adventure Institute staff to do marketing. He graduated from Colorado State University in 2008 with a degree in Journalism and Speech Communication.
